A Study on the Relationship between Self-Disclosure and Anxiety during Clinical Practice


Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between self-disclosure and anxiety during clinical practice.
The subject for this study was composed of 99 nursing students.
To collect necessary data, questionnaire was distributed to the students. The tool of
measurement was Jourard¢¥s Self-Disclosure Questionnaire and Kim¢¥s Anxiety Questionnaire. Data Analysis was done by using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The following results were obtained.
1. There was a significant difference in self-disclosure among attitude, personality, taste, clinical practice, money and body (F=43.60, p<0.001).
2. There was a significant difference in self-disclosure among family, friend, professor, medical team (F=355.89, p<0.001).
3. There was positive correlation between scores of self-disclosure for medical team and trait anxiety (r=0.1714, p<0.05).
4. There was negative correlation between scores of self-disclosure for friend and trait anxiety (r=-0.2005, p<0.05).
5. There was positive correlation between scores of self disclosure for clinical practice and state anxiety (r=0.2001, p<0.05).
6. There was positive correlation between scores of self-disclosure for clinical practice and trait anxiety (r=0.2009, p<0.05).
